Most people who stall aren't lazy. They are short on protein and calling it discipline.

When a client's numbers stop going up, the first thing I look at isn't the programme. It's breakfast.

The one target

I ask for about 0.7 grams of protein for every pound you weigh, spread over three or four meals. For most people that means adding something to breakfast and something to the afternoon, not overhauling the week.

What it looks like

Eggs or yoghurt in the morning, a palm of meat, fish or tofu at lunch and dinner, and milk or a shake after training. Nothing is banned. If you want to lose fat we eat a little less of the rest, slowly.

Clients who hit the target most days keep lifting more. Clients who don't, plateau, and then blame the plan.
