Eight thousand steps on the days between sessions does more for most people than another workout would.
Three sessions a week is enough lifting for nearly everyone I coach. What happens on the other four days matters just as much, and the answer is usually a walk.
Walking helps you recover between sessions, it spends energy without making you hungrier, and it is the easiest habit to keep when work gets busy. I set a step target with every client and we raise it a little each block.
How much
Start from what you do now and add a thousand steps a day. Most people settle between seven and ten thousand. A walk after dinner counts. So does the long way to the shop.
More notes
Newest first. Each one takes less time to read than a rest between sets.
