The block
Ken's grandson started walking last spring, which meant a lot of time on the floor and a lot of help getting up from it. He had never been in a gym and wanted to know whether it was too late to start.
It wasn't. We began with box squats to a bench and a 25 lb dumbbell held at the chest, three times a week, with a walk on the other days. The box went down an inch every fortnight.
At twelve weeks he squats 70 lb to full depth, and gets up from the floor with nothing to hold on to.
